Asus Zenfone 3S Max Review – The Battery Redefined

Asus Zenfone series no doubt if you are following here you would know I have talked a lot about their devices. We are aware they always come with a device in each segment. In 2017, they came up with battery efficient device called the Zenfone 3s max which we will be talking. Somewhat step down in design compared to Asus Zenfone 3 max or Zenfone 3 laser but good in the rest things.

Build of Asus Zenfone 3s Max

At a glance, I missed the exact aluminum construction of the Laser or the Max. The build was the decent one. The left corner had a camera, Asus branding. It isn’t the most premium for me but one who comes from a late two-year device or more than that he would appretiate that design form factor. He won’t be disappointed as I am for it. They could have chosen a better design from their siblings. It looks to a strategic cost cutting for doing better in the rest areas of the device. This move by the Asus is totally appreciable as I talk further about this instrument.

Software

To my surprise, Asus Zenfone 3s max came with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. This version of the software made the whole software experience over the Asus own UI much better. Those tiny little polishing which lacked in the Zenfone 3 with the nougat update will be finished and make it much perfect device. This device at the software experience felt top notch as compared to all the zenfone three line-ups of devices I have reviewed. The OS was much light and quicker. Asus you should implement this update in all possible smartphones. The notification management, the quick toggle was same as stock so made huge difference to the experience. Maybe in future, a whole stock Android experience will be a very good idea for us.

Call Quality

The call quality was good, being a dual sim device. I had no issues. More importantly, it came with 4G VoLTE that was main update in today’s Jio market. The key highlight feature worked great and efficiently.

Display and Performance

It comes with 720p display, which on paper looks terrible I know. To be very frank I didn’t able to guess out that It had a less pixels. It was noticeable only if I compare it with 2K or 1080p device. Moreover the display was much brighter 400 nits approx. The colour accuracy is much better. The display was much smaller makes the device confotable. Talking to the part of  performance it came with mediatek processor. MediaTek MT6750 was good performer for my daily emailing, social network and calls. Even the Ram management was the decent. The hardcore game part it showed some frame drops in some games like asphalt at the highest settings. Yet I won’t recommend this smartphone for the gamer as there are much better alternatives of the same.

Battery

I won’t have the stats screenshot to show the exact SOT. In my Normal use with the 4G VoLTE I managed to get a whole day some times 1 and half day battery life. Which is defintely awesome as I watch lot of videos and social networking is key aspect of the work on the smartphone. In all possible light the display worked awesome. Those cut of extra pixel surely delivers extra battery life.

Verdict

So as I told they managed to do where they exactly lacked but I am sure the hint of the next flagship device is surely gonna have an awesome smartphone experience and Google assistant as well. This will definitely strengthen the Asus. So the Asus Zenfone 3s max is definitely pick for those social media and emailer and calling who needs an awesome batterylife for sure.
