Its Android which made pc manufacturer come to mobile and tablet production as its growing dominance killing the PC/ Laptop all the way which was never thought. We seen Asus Fonepad 7 , not so impressive and then they came with the zenfone line-up with zenfone 4 , zenfone 5 , zenfone 6 each number represents the screen and some specification difference, Here’s the review for the zenfone 5 – A budget smartphone looking at specification and overall experience.
The first thing which whoever will notice Asus zenfone 5 is its awesome build. The first part which impressed me a lot I mean if this is budget smartphone with such killer looks any one would buy it. All the way more better than what samsung makes their phone at budget categories. The handset made for 5 inch still fits perfect to the hand. The black astonishing display with at bottom the sliver centre circular design any one would get a fan of Asus zenfone line up. The removable back makes it duo body but still there no removable battery. The back is removable just to insert memory card and dual sim. In this smartphone both the SIM are micro SIM, I think soon the smartphones with Mini SIM will disappear sooner as today makor smartphones have Micro-SIM so that’s not a issue now. The iPhone 4 was the first phone to come with micro-sim and the manufacturer use this as it saves some area to add some more beauty to device. When you remove the back of zenfone you can see the battery but two horizontal over the battery strips makes it non removable but still the quality of back cover is still awesome. At Back there’s Asus Logo with zenfone written and the Camera with flash. I have written specially about the beauty of camera.
The next thing after the build anyone would notice is the Screen. When I booted up the device for the first time I became the fan of the screen the great viewing angles and amazing vivid colour reproduction which made totally fall in love with the device. This device will also set up the an different benchmark for Asus how amazing they can be with the smartphones and Also In future they will definitely compete others if they keep paving with this way. The Beauty of display is also responsible the software part which takes the most of the screen. Asus made the perfect enhancement such a way that it doesn’t seems to be looking an Budget but an really costly phone.
Such a good screen but asus made amazing enhancement to its software. We lastly reviewed asus fonepad 7. We didn’t like the software much but the zenfone’s software was incredibly enhanced and tweaked to the right part. The notification panel with quick circular settings recalled me of samsung but asus did in quick settings was the perfect decision done by them. The inbuilt ram cleaner no need to download third party apps as its in the stock itself. Quiet few manufacturer does this. There was custom launcher yet pretty nice and smooth experience . If we talk of bloat-wares the OS took about 4gb and left 4gb for use quiet Ok not so disappointing but this was in jelly bean the Kitkat would definitely overcome this problem. As kitkat is quiet light and would make a more better experience Also giving upgrade to kitkat is also a right way to sell as consumer gets attracted easily to it. We don’t have any official words about the future updates the L Update will be rolled out or not but uptill now only Kitkat is given to device and more important to it they gave update which other mobiles brands like mmx, karbonn , spice , xolo which hardly give update to their devices.
Everyone wants to know this how it would be better to compete. The Asus zenfone 5 will not disappoint you in terms of gaming. It scored pretty decent benchmarks which are enough to play Asphalt 8 Airborne smoothly, We even tested riptide gp 2 which rendered good graphics over the phone and more important the phone didn’t heated up much. If you want the benchmarks antutu scored about 19512 approx which is good at this level. You will definitely play most games smoothly that’s what important for you.
Today’s world is definitely the fond for the camera performance of the each phone. I didn’t expected much from the Asus zenfone 5 when it came or camera but it was more than better to my level expectation. The camera was good in daylight but also good in low light condition. The redesigned camera app had a special owl mode which increased the dynamic range and captured amazing images at low light. Sometimes the colours captured from camera seen to be over-saturated while sometimes under saturated maybe because keeping some settings on auto effected me. The overall camera experience was up-to the mark.
Asus is yet to announce the price but when I experienced the smartphone it may cost between 15-20k. If it’s between that then it’s definite to buy for. Talking to the battery part it’s decent one which will last for a day. That’s important that it lasts for a day. Asus is doing tremendous hard work to make its zenfone lineup a success and definite they will achieve it as the way they are paving forward.
