Rumors started to make rounds since December 2014, where some websites reported that successor to 1320(i.e 1330) is coming.People got damn excited, specially people in India who are so obsessed with phablets kinda’ phones.During the MWC(Mobile World Conference) at Barcelona, Microsoft came up with 2 outstanding phones which were Microsoft Lumia 640 and Microsoft Lumia 640 XL.Each had 2 variants viz. LTE version and Dual Sim 3G version.Since then many Indian fans were eagerly waiting for the launch of these phones in India and based on their specs and current market condition they were expected to cost between 8k-12,000.Given Below are the Specs Sheet of both the phones:

What’s the Problem?

People in India were damn excited specially with the later one(640 XL) as it has got the looks,specs and future promises from Microsoft(Windows 10) to die for.Microsoft set the stage for their perfect launch except one BIG mistake(may be)..Pricing!In recent times, India has gone through a transformation where most of the people buy a phone which gives them more than what they have actually payed for.Players like Xiaomi,Lava,Gionee,Micromax,Viva has got a good chunk of Indian market which was once ruled by Samsung(and Nokia before that).Many fans have shown dissapointment on the pricing since they are getting phones with same specs for lesser price(around 12k).

 

What may happen?

It’s too early to say but if Microsoft fails with this(lumia 640 and 640XL),it may give Motorola(with Moto G Gen 2) and Xiaomi(with Redmi 2) a chance to grab those losing customer in Mid-range.It is also possible that Microsoft may eat their own customers by shifting the focus from lumia 640 to 730 and 830.The current price of lumia 730 is around 13k while 830 is for 20k.There are chances that this may dismantle the strong base support for these new launches.And with recent reports, Xiaomi was spotted running Windows 10 on their phone(Mi4) which they stated as not a partnership but just for early alpha testers on possiblity to run different OS,So there are CHANCES that Xiaomi may support windows later(like HTC did with their One and One M8)…So instead of buying an expensive Lumia 640 XL, a buyer may shift to Xiaomi Mi4 which is ofcourse expensive but bang for the buck with its 2.5 GHz processor,3GB RAM and various other impressive features…Check out  http://absolutegizmos.com/xiaomi-mi-4-the-flagship-re-defined/ article with complete description of Mi4 by our admin contact@absolutegizmos.com for the same.

Current Scenario

Right now some think that we wont get a better phone with such awesome camera in this price range, while other think that it’s just another high priced device whose price may fall in coming months.But as far as now,these 2 devices are one of the most anticipated and exciting launch for microsoft who have created ripples in Indian market with perfect hit.But there are factors that may or may not fail this launch.
