Design of Kingston Fury Renegade Heatsink SSD
The Renegade SSD features a compact M.2 form factor, making it an ideal choice for desktop and console like Sony PS5 for installations. Its black PCB is complemented by a stylish heat sink, not only enhancing aesthetics but also aiding in heat dissipation during extended usage. The overall design exudes a sense of premium quality, in line with Kingston’s line-up. This is the first time I’ve seen a dedicated heat sink and it should work with good amount of airflow inside the system. The heat sink is best in the Air cooled system in my opinion.
Performance
When it comes to performance, the Kingston Fury Renegade does not disappoint. Harnessing the power of PCIe 4.0, this SSD achieves read speeds of up to 7000MB/s and write speeds of up to 5500MB/s. This translates to lightning-fast boot times, near-instant application launches, and seamless data transfers. The drive’s high IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) rating ensures smooth multitasking and reduced load times, making it a boon for gamers, content creators, and professionals working with resource-intensive applications. The photoshop works flawlessly in the multi layer image works and heavy 3D rendering. I will say the added heat sink comes in handy in the extended workflow of cache time. I tried Davinci resolve as well in the testing and specially above 10 mins there was no drop in the copying speed or writing speed which is exceptionally very good work of the thick heat sink attached to the SSD PCB.
The Renegade SSD’s advanced controller and 3D NAND technology contribute to its consistent and reliable performance. Whether you’re working on large video editing projects, 3D rendering, or intense gaming sessions, this SSD can handle it all without breaking a sweat.
Verdict
In conclusion, the Kingston Fury Renegade PCI 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD presents a compelling option for users seeking unparalleled speed and performance. Its sleek design, efficient heat management, and exceptional read/write speeds make it a worthy investment for power users who demand top-tier performance from their storage solution.
While the Renegade SSD comes at a premium price point, its performance gains are undeniable, especially for those who rely on their systems for resource-intensive tasks. Gamers will appreciate reduced load times and smoother gameplay, while content creators will enjoy faster rendering and editing processes. However, for casual users, the performance gains might not justify the higher cost.
All in all, the Kingston Fury Renegade SSD reaffirms Kingston’s commitment to delivering high-quality, high-performance storage solutions. If you’re ready to embrace the future of storage technology and unlock the true potential of your system, the Kingston Fury Renegade PCI 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD could be the upgrade you’ve been waiting for.
