Build and Packing
The Kingston NV2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M2 is no exceptional packing like most of its products, I do like they save a lot in packing and more importantly they focus more on performance of the product. Likewise, this wasn’t the exception. The simple double cardboard packing with plastic casing is same.
The build quality is simple. These don’t come with a dedicated heat sink but that’s fine, some motherboards have their own or even if there is no heatsink there is no issue with the performance of the SSD. The build is a blue premium board with memory mounting and Kingston void warranty sticker at top so it’s simple. Most of them won’t even notice the SSD in the building as it’s cornered. I think the company did save cost here which is completely fine, unless it gives stellar performance.
Performance
I do remember NV1 it was fast but didn’t expected NV2 to be more faster. I was totally wrong. The Kingston NV2 did has 3482 MB/s sequential read speed 2242 MB/s write speed in CrystalDisk mark.
We did try photoshop the startup was ok but rendering was few secs faster on same test bench.
Conclusion
We can definitely say that this is best upgrade and real good performance bump the Kingston NV2 offer. Those who work lot on heavy files editing, encoding, retrieving will have a good time. The compatible space will offer worth every penny upgrade.
