Tecno has recently entered the Indian market, and I’ve seen it doing good. The primary target audience for the brand is the offline market, and that is where it mainly focused on. Today we have mid range budget smartphone Tecno Camon iTwin which can be the best budget smartphone for the offline market. Tecno is a company based in Hong Kong.

Build of the Tecno Camon iTwin

When I first took it in hands, It has an iconic design language of the 2018 which we seen in the most smartphone. Understand the checklist. Does it has an 18:10 aspect ratio display ? Yes it does. Does it has front flash ? Yes it does. Does it has dual camera at rear ? Yes it does. Does it has fingerprint scanner ? Yes it does at the rear. Does it has face unlock ? Yes it does.

I was like what more is the expectation from the smartphone in the mid-budget segment for the offline market. Yes, the offline market is competitive as well there are all iconic brands. The metro areas of India contribute less amount of market share, but the overall market is still boosted from the offline share in India.

Polycarbonate uni-construction design with a non-removable battery is the form factor. The front is covered entirely under glass. The rear looks smooth the Tecno branding under the fingerprint scanner. The right side has the volume rockers and power button which are of plastic. The bottom has the micro USB charging and data syncing port. At the bottom, the right side has the speaker grills and microphone with the 3.5mm headphone jack. Overall I would rate the build quality as 3.5/5

Performance and UI

The phone does come with HiOS 3.2 skinned on Android 8.0, The model number mentioned is Tecno IA. So how does the skin feels, more important is has more colors and they have tried to take the inspiration of icons design elements from the iOS point of view. It’s not just HiOS been doing this thing but many more. I won’t say that it’s a bad thing, its more on the natural user interface type.

Swipe up on the Home screen; you get the app drawer with the search and disappointing ads in the app drawer.  Again I use to use custom launcher most of the times that’s how you love using Android.

Looking for the gaming on this device, Let’s just begin with the Antutu score of the device, The device managed to score 45,574 in the Antutu score for the Raw performance. You can play PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) in this device at low graphics for sure. We did test out that prospectus as it’s more important these days.

We also did the Geekbench test, and single core score turned out to 678 and Multicore score came out in 1844.

The camera of Tecno Camon iTwin

13 MP + 2MP Depth sensing rear camera is Good, The daylight shots took from it was good. Little overexposed, The color saturation required more tuning while shot on the auto mode.  I will post some sample shots below you be the judge.

The verdict of Tecno Camon iTwin

I personally think from the stand point of offline market, They are offering a good package. I personally think they should do something to the aggressive Indian smartphone market as well. I know more of the offline market is still active but can’t deny the fact people are moving lot of towards online as well. We give it a pick for the offline market.
