Build of Xiaomi Redmi 2

This phone reminded me of Xiaomi Redmi note 4G, it’s exactly smaller in size and same deign but instead of glossy white back panel, it has Matt back panel which really added awesome grip to the Xiaomi redmi 2. Look into the image, During the test days I actually fell the device few times it added some scuff over to the edges and no scratch on the screen was seen. They really added a better screen to redmi 2 from its precession. The device due to its 4.7 inch screen the device is perfect to hold and mange apps and typing easy with one hand.

Software of Xiaomi Redmi 2

The Redmi 2 comes out of the box with MIUI 6, I played it for few weeks. At start I noticed it was a bit laggy and not well optimised as compared to the Xiaomi MI 4 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, But After a week a update came out which was 6.44 version update which really added smoothness and well optimisation to the device, Also there was the change in Calender UI and Also Launcher Choosing was added, Even in the camera UI the Panoroma and HDR was been added in the 517Mb update which was huge but worth the Upgrade to perform.

Gaming and Benchmarks

The Redmi 2 does has a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 Processor running with Adreno 306 GPU. So while gaming I didn’t seen much lags while playing games such as Asphalt 8 , Blek , Monument valley. The benchmark wasn’t the top most its was about to 20,000 even below the Asus zenfone 5. Still I will give this device a pick more than the Asus zenfone 5.

Camera of Xiaomi Redmi 2

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 has 8 MP rear Camera and 2MP front camera. I must say I’m really impressed with the camera at that budget. The Moto e or the Lenovo A6000 can’t capture as great images as that of Xiaomi redmi 2 even in low light condition it performed well looking at the budget of the device. The front camera was also good, captured good more whitened selfie which is really good for girls.

Look at the camera samples below Click to enlarge.

Battery Of Xiaomi Redmi 2

Well the phone comes with 2200 mah removable battery. At normal use the battery tends to last one complete day over the 2G network completely well. At 3G it tends to be about to 6 hours at web, I didn’t tested it at 4G as in mumbai no carrier provides 4G network.

Verdict

I must say every xiaomi device had been amazing no doubt and this device isn’t exceptional for me. If you have budget for 7-8k rupees then this is the device you should go for.
